Team Participation & Registration

 

Who can form a Team?

Anyone can create a team with 10 or more individuals who are interested in running or walking together. A team can be made up of friends, family members, coworkers, social club members, youth or other church groups, or any combination of these suggestions!

 

How do I form a team?

  • The Team Captain will need to complete a Team Packet, including a Team Registration Form listing all team members. Register Online or Download Team Captain Packet

  • Recruit your team members by hanging flyers & posters at work, church, school or wherever you think potential team members may be found.

  • All team members MUST register online or complete an Individual Registration Form. If registering online, be sure to list the team name when prompted.Register Online or Download Individual Registration Form

  • Encourage team members to use their My Sponsors log (attached to their registration form) to solicit support for their participation.

    NOTE: The Team Registration Form and any completed Individual Registration Forms MUST be turned in by by April 20, 2012. For those registering online, those applications must be submitted by April 20th as well.

    The Team Donation Summary Form and all team members' My Sponsors logs will be turned in with the collected donations by the Team Captain at check-in on the morning of the race.


    Team Ideas & Tips

  • Set a goal for the number of members you want to have and the amount of money that you want to raise and communicate that to your team members.
  • Pump up your team members for fun and success! Remind them often of the reason that they are doing this and that the team can win prizes for outstanding performance!
  • Educate your team about Hope Cancer Resources. Information can be found by visiting our website.

  • When you are raising funds from your friends, neighbors and work associates remember that you are not asking for yourself. You are asking for donations to a very worthy cause! Every penny you collect will go straight to Hope Cancer Resources where it will be used for cancer patient services and cancer education in Northwest Arkansas.
  • One easy way to manage your team or individual fundraising efforts is to create a fundraising page. From our event page, you can create your own page and send the link to everyone you know. Just list the page URL on your donations log and we'll track your totals from there.
  • When appropriate, ask your employer, company or a church leader to match the funds that you raise. Many companies have a matching program in place to support their employees' charitable giving efforts.
  • All of your Sponsorship Forms and money should be turned in to your Team Captain who will then give it to the race administrators at check-in the day of the race.
